Direct costs are limited to $750,000 per year, the project period may be 4 to 5 years, and NIH expects each award to support scholars for 3 to 4 years. No cost sharing is required, and scholars must be U.S. citizens or noncitizen nationals, or lawful permanent residents, at the time of appointment.
