The Rural Energy Startup Program (RESP) provides grant funding to support communities taking initial steps to reduce energy use, reduce fossil fuel emissions, and improve energy efficiency. It is intended for eligible rural local governments and funds activities such as comprehensive energy planning, renewable resource planning, and energy audits and building upgrades. Applicants are expected to use U.S. DOE EECBG Blueprints to guide project implementation.
