The Commercial Nitrogen Optimization Pilot Program (NOPP) is a grant program funded by the State of Wisconsin and administered by DATCP, with support from the University of Wisconsin–Madison Department of Soil Science and Division of Extension. It funds agricultural producers to develop innovative approaches to optimize commercial nitrogen applied to agricultural fields over at least two growing seasons. Applicants must collaborate with a UWS institution that will monitor the project on-site.
